For years, people from all over the country have come to vacation at The Driftwood Motel down in New Jersey’s famous shore area. Many people love the convenience and attractions that Point Pleasant Beach and the Driftwood Motel have to offer. Families with children visit the Point Pleasant Board Walk where everyone can enjoy all of the attractions, rides, entertainment, dining, Tiki bar, aquarium, games, and much more, all within walking distance.
The Driftwood Motel is located directly on the beach, on Ocean Avenue, the street that runs parallel to the beach in an upscale residential neighborhood within walking or short distances to most restaurants and attractions. Most guests prefer the convenience of our private beach with it’s spectacular, clean sand and clear blue-green water, and is staffed with a lifeguard 7 days a week. Guests also love our private heated pool and patio area and delicious food, made-to-order and refreshing drinks available each day at our convenient poolside snack bar. We also offer off-site dining at our restaurant just a short drive away. Please visit The Coal House at 710 Arnold Avenue, in Point Pleasant Beach for the best coal fired pizza around.
There is a private courtyard within the motel complex where you can just relax or chat with other guests. In the evenings many guests find themselves relaxing on the patio, having a cocktail or just watching the surf roll in and the stars glisten in the beautiful night sky. The Driftwood Motel is a family owned and operated business. Children under 12 years old are always FREE at the Driftwood Motel.
And here’s a little history; it got its name from the remains of a ship
"The Lizzie H. Brayton". A 201 foot, 979 ton, four masted schooner
with a cargo of coal. The ship wrecked off the coast in 1904, directly
in front of where the motel is situated. Because of all the driftwood
that used to be found on the beach from the wreck, the motel was
named the Driftwood. In fact you can still see the wreck about 160
yards off the beach and still find some of the coal that she was carrying.
